Goals

Our aim is that everyone, regardless of their disability can browse pages on this website without any access difficulties.

In order to achieve this aim we have followed the WCAG 1.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) established by the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) working group belonging to the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).

New functionality

The following are examples of the functionality that has been implemented on this site to enable a correct access to all content:

The portal's visual characteristics (font style, font and background colour, etc.) have been defined using the style sheet (CSS) so users can adapt the text to their preferences.

Font sizes have been defined using relative units so that the font size can be increased or decreased using the browser options.

The pages are clearly structured so users can see all of the content. The information can also be read with a screen reader or by users who turn off the style sheet, etc. The section headers, lists and all aspects that aid overall comprehension of the website have been defined with this aim in mind.

Different formats and new technologies

Due to advances in new technologies this site offers services, applications and documents in new formats which sometimes require a program (software) or plug-in in order to be able to access the content. These are provided free of charge and are freely accessible in all cases.
